One dark winter’s night back in December 2005 - I was sitting at my PC looking for some information on the internet, when I started to look for websites that promote angling coaches. I of course found the likes of the NFA, PAA, NFSA and S&TA but I could not find a website that promoted angling coaches from different disciplines in one place.
So I thought I would give it a go and see if I could get it off the ground – that was nearly three years ago and I am delighted with the progress that we have made since those humble beginnings.
It has not always been plain sailing, I have had to work hard to build the site and get it promoted. I have done this on my own without any financial backing – in fact quite the opposite; I have donated all the membership fees to a number of charities.
We have supported the following charities or good causes via the membership fees.
A-C-A Of course this website is all about promoting angling coaches and I believe that ATP is unrivalled in way we support angling coaches and more importantly how the ATP members support each other via the members forum and on the bank helping each other at coaching events. We have benefited greatly from the support of Keith Arthur and Nigel Botherway; both these guys have promoted ATP countless times on national radio via talkSPORT radio ‘Fisherman Blues’ I have had the honour of being the studio guest on talkSPORT radio six times over the past two years; there is no better way to promote angling coaches than on an angling programme.
