How long have you been angling and how did you start?
I started when I was about 5 or 6 until I was 16 [then I found women and alcohol!] then started again when I was about 25.
How long have you been an angling coach?
Since 1999 with the old C25 qualification before upgrading to Level 2
Why do you coach angling?
Primarily to put something back into the sport that I have had so much enjoyment from personally, but it's also great fun coaching and you get to visit some fantastic venues and meet wonderful people [coaches and those being coached]
What area of the country do you fish and coach?
I coach mostly in the South - Berks, Bucks, Oxon, Hants,
What is your favourite fishery and why?
Old Father
What is your favourite species and why?
Dace [when I can find them in numbers] because they present a real challenge to build up a good weight! Chub on a cold winter’s day when any bite is a bonus.

What local angling club do you recommend and why?
Total-Fishing club, a website-based club which offers fishing all over the country. You get to meet lots of new people and the craic has to be seen to be believed at some of their matches.
