How long been a coach; since 1999 but I have always given tuition without qualifications since around 1977. I have always helped fellow anglers by passing on my knowledge on methods.

Why do I coach; To put something back, but at sometimes I have to ask myself the same question WHY. To be honest Working with all the guy’s from the London & Southeast Region Team is such great fun , there a Great bunch of  anglers, but everyone admits that we don’t know it all, plus we love learning from each other as well.

The biggest enjoyment is seeing a person’s face who has never ever caught a fish, catching for the first time.

Plus watching someone progress from scratch , to then become a very competent angler.

That the buzz of coaching, you can’t beat it.

Which area do I fish and coach; I fish wherever and whenever, but mainly from the Midlands - South/South East. I coach wherever I am requested even when demanded by our Senior Coach Mr Alan Sandom at times J LOL but again this is mainly in the London, The South~South East.

What is my favourite fishery; Like most true Anglers I do not have one! be it a lake Canal or River each  has its own set of challenges and it is Just being out there on the bank fishing that gives me the most pleasure. I do however have a few that I really do not like, mainly because of the way they are managed.

Favourite Species; In this country I have to say The Tench followed by The Roach they are my favourites but you also can’t beat the thrill of  fishing for Carp on the modern day Carp  fisheries.
You never know what to expected no matter how small  these fisheries are, they are all starting to hold very big fish now.

I do know that as soon as I get a chance of Sea fishing Overseas, then all these species will be off the list simply as Alan Sandom keeps telling us all nothing fights like that here in the UK

Favourite Method; I don't have one method as suich, but if I have to say one simply because I do use it a lot then it would have to be the pole.

The Pole does has its good points and uses, but the Weather & enviroment dictates on the day which is most suitable for that day’s fishing, some days it could be a whip, the next long pole, etc.

As any true angler would tell you, Not being limited with a set style gives you the option to fish all waters in all conditions.

By being versatile in most methods it helps me to meet other anglers, have a chat and still learn the new methods that are catching! great fun.

Local Club; Has to be Alexandra Palace Angling Society, why? its a club, that I have been involved in since I was a Child and I am its Chairman,Fisheries Officer ect ect including general dogsbody. Just like most of us angling coaches are doing at other fishing clubs.

Does it have a website; It has with over 450 pages on it. but due to the Club currently withdrawing membership fee’s at this present time. I personally could not afford to keep it on line and maintain it! so the answer is no not at this time.
