How long been a coach; I became a fully qualified PAA level 2 coach in February 2007. However without realizing I had been doing it I have always helped and coach fellow anglers who were struggling with there sport.
Why do I coach; I love to see the look on a pupils faces as they catch their first small roach or see them master a technique and put it to good use. Coaching benefits not only the angler but also the fisheries, tackle shops and manufactures. Good anglers are normally happy anglers and happy anglers are people who are interested in their sport and there surroundings. Teenage anglers are far less likely to get into trouble as they have a focus and a drive that can help them stay out of trouble and without realizing it get very close to nature. For me coach is the best job you could have
Which area do I fish and coach; I fish wherever and whenever, but mainly in the South of England. The waters at my disposal gives me access to every type and discipline of angling I could ask for.
What is my favourite fishery; I have many fisheries I like they include the River Thames, Yatley Carp Lakes, Linear Fisheries Oxford, Farlows, Todber manor, Evesham Vale, Wildmoor Waters, Willow Park Fisheries to name just a few.
Favourite Species; I have to be honest and say I enjoy almost every aspect of my fishing be that catching gudgeon on my local cut to setting my traps out for large specimen tench. If I had to choose one avenue of our sport well I would have to say carp fishing for old wild original UK carp is what I enjoy the most.
Favourite Method; I enjoy most methods that are productive on the venue I an fishing at that time. When carp fishing at range I like to use carp rods and reels and cast single baits with small PVA bags of crushed baits and pellets
Local Club; Cemex Angling with over 7000 member across the Uk and some of the best angling waters the club really looks after its members. The club has 5 full time coaches working on its waters covering all the course fishing disciplines.
